Supported capabilities

The current work AgentMQ can expose to an agent through reviewed, application-scoped operations.

Updated View as Markdown

AgentMQ turns external services into schema-defined operations. An application receives only the operations its owner connects and enables; the live catalog and Agent discovery response remain authoritative.

Web and research

Capability Typical results Effect
Fetch one page Markdown, HTML, page metadata, or extracted content Read
Search the web Bounded result sets with source URLs Read
Render a page Browser-rendered HTML or extracted page data Read
Inspect a URL Sandboxed scan status and verdict Read, with a separate scan submission
Search and SEO research Keywords, rankings, backlinks, domain metrics, and search results Read; some task submission operations create work

Fetching is bounded to the requested page or query. An operation does not become a general browser session unless its discovered schema explicitly says so.

Places, weather, language, and rates

  • Search places, find nearby places, resolve details, match records, and read map or street-image metadata.
  • Read current weather and selected forecast datasets for one coordinate.
  • Translate bounded text.
  • Read public or account-backed currency exchange rates.
  • Check IP-address risk and website performance.

Files, objects, contacts, and calendars

Area Available work
User files Browse, search, download, and upload through an authorized account
Object storage List, read, create, upload, and delete buckets or objects when the connection grants it
WebDAV Browse directories, download files, and upload files
Contacts Browse groups, page contacts, read versions, create, update, and delete records
Calendars Browse events, read calendar data, synchronize changes, and write versioned events

Write operations require an explicitly enabled write capability. Credentials and OAuth tokens stay in the connection boundary and never appear in an Agent request.

Productivity and application services

  • Read authorized message summaries and channel history.
  • Browse knowledge bases, read page content, and update admitted page properties.
  • Operate application-specific catalogs, moderation queues, campaigns, and audited workflows when that application’s connector is enabled.
  • Run a reviewed workflow revision as an Agent operation.

Messaging, email, and telephony

AgentMQ includes operations for transactional email, text and rich messaging, business messaging templates and media, number search and ordering, usage lookup, and selected call-control actions. These are effectful operations: use stable idempotency keys, narrow limits, and human approval when the action represents a person.

Media and public collections

Search image, video, encyclopedia, cultural-heritage, government, and public-archive metadata. Results preserve source, attribution, and licence fields where the upstream service provides them. A search result does not itself grant reuse rights.

How an agent learns the exact tools

  1. The owner connects a service and enables only the intended operations.
  2. The agent calls GET /v1/agent/applications/{appId}/operations.
  3. The agent chooses an operation by id and validates input against inputSchema.
  4. The agent calls /invoke, or /prepare when requiresEndUser is true.

Do not hard-code a copied service count or assume an operation exists because it is described here. Connection state, server support, owner policy, and current limits determine what discovery returns.
